Happiness
in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of
the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and
maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect,
love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.
Before the lesson read:
Establishing a Christ-Centered Home by Richard J.

Enriching Family Life by James E. Faust
Song:
Families can be together forever
1. I have a fam'ly here on earth.
They are so good to me.
I want to share my life with them
through all eternity.
2. While I am in my early years,
I'll prepare most carefully,
So I can marry in God's temple for
eternity.
Chorus
Fam'lies can be together forever
Through Heav'nly Father's plan.
I always want to be with my own
family,
And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can.
Scripture:
2 Nephi 9:39
To be spiritually minded is life eternal (Smile)
Lesson:
Have a sign up with the words “faith-believing in something you can not see, prayer-an earnest hope or wish directed to Heavenly Father, repentance- sincere regret or remorse for a bad action,
forgiveness- Letting go of the pain caused by bad choices or actions, respect- a feeling of admiration, love, compassion, work, recreational activities” Ask them if they know what they are/ what
they mean. Help them out if need be. Then show a picture of a family, ask them
if these words can help this family grow stronger. Help them out if you need to. Show a picture
of your family. Ask them some ways that they can become stronger as a family.
Ask them what they can do to have a happy family where everyone is included.
Ask them what are some things that could hurt the family. Then have them come
up with ways to solve those problems that they came up with. End by baring your
testimony of having a strong family and the importance of it.
Game:
Play a family favorite game together.
Treat:
Chocolate covered pretzel sticks. Tell them that
with only one it is easy to break, but with a bunch of them, like a family
holding together it is a lot harder to break.
